When you work with a huge image (especially when you have multiple layers) there's a way
you can save alot of memory and speed. If you do some more or less serious work I suppose you have
Layers or Channels palette open. It takes Photoshop alot of time to render the image from
actual size to the size of thumbnail in those palettes. So what you can do is click small triangle in the top right corner of the
palette box and choose Palette Options.. menu. It lets you choose the size of the thumbnail - you
simply click None. It instructs Photoshop to not render thumbnail after each operations, so it
saves 20-30% of speed.
